Injured on a Manhattan Construction Site?
More construction workers get hurt in Manhattan than in any other borough. The Department of Buildings logged 184 construction-related incidents in Manhattan during 2025, with 150 injuries and 2 deaths. That is more than Brooklyn and Queens combined, and nearly 45 percent of every reported construction injury in New York City.
Vertical work drives those numbers. Crews build in tight footprints, on setbacks and rooftops, above sidewalks that never close, and often inside occupied buildings on gut renovations and facade repairs.
Falls Are the Single Biggest Danger
Of those 184 incidents, 80 involved a worker falling, and those falls produced 79 injuries. Another 21 involved material coming loose and dropping. A fall of even one story routinely means spinal fractures, head trauma, or a shattered ankle that ends a career in the trades.
New York Labor Law Gives Injured Workers Real Leverage
Labor Law 240(1), often called the Scaffold Law, requires contractors and owners to furnish scaffolding, hoists, ladders, ropes, and similar equipment built and placed to give proper protection against gravity-related risks. Labor Law 241(6) requires that every area of construction, excavation, or demolition work be arranged and operated to provide reasonable and adequate protection. Labor Law 200 covers the general duty to keep the site safe.
Those statutes reach past your employer to the property owner, the general contractor, and their agents. Immigration status does not bar a claim in New York, and a worker who was partly responsible may still recover. Eric or an experienced attorney on his team can tell you which law fits your accident.

What Compensation Can Manhattan Construction Accident Victims Recover
Our Process: How We Fight for Manhattan Clients
After a construction accident in Manhattan, important evidence can disappear quickly, and multiple companies may try to shift responsibility. We move fast to preserve the facts, identify every party that may be liable, and build the strongest possible compensation claim.
From your first call through settlement or trial, we handle the legal process while you focus on your recovery.
Free Case Evaluation
Call any hour. We listen to what happened on site, explain which laws apply, and tell you honestly what your claim looks like.
Locking Down the Site Evidence
Job sites change within days. We move to preserve accident reports, safety logs, inspection records, and building department filings before the scene is rebuilt.
Identifying Every Responsible Company
A Manhattan project can run five companies on one floor. We trace the contracts to find the owner, general contractor, and subcontractors who controlled the work and owed you protection.
Pursuing Full Compensation
We negotiate with the carriers and aggressively pursue every dollar you are owed. We turn down lowball offers and are ready to take your case to trial.
No Fees Unless We Win
We work on contingency. Our fee is one-third of your recovery, and you owe nothing unless we win.

$1,100,000
Pedestrian Accident
After being struck by a motor vehicle while crossing the street, a client was hospitalized for several months with multiple fractures, head injuries, and surgeries. An expert in accident reconstruction analysis proved that the accident was the driver’s fault.
One of our most significant victories in Westchester County was securing a major settlement for victims of the tragic Metro-North train crash. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Who can I bring a claim against after a Manhattan construction accident?
New York Labor Law places duties on property owners, general contractors, and their agents, so your claim can reach companies beyond the one that hired you. An attorney can review the site contracts and identify each one.
Can I bring a claim if I am an undocumented worker?
Yes. New York gives undocumented workers the same right to pursue an injury claim as any other worker on the site. Your status does not shield the companies responsible for your injuries.
What should I do right after a construction accident?
Get medical attention and report the accident to your supervisor. Photograph the equipment, the location, and your injuries. Write down the names of everyone who saw it and keep every record.
How long do I have to file a construction accident claim in New York?
Three years is the general deadline for a personal injury lawsuit, but claims touching city or state property can require notice in as little as 90 days. Speak with an attorney right away.
